Mission Statement

Saving Cities is an organization dedicated to using media as a tool to advance community development across the Rust Belt. Through the creation of positive, call-to-action content, we aim to inspire a new generation of leaders to take responsibility for our great region’s revitalization. By acting as a conduit of information throughout the region, we strive to integrate all parties and promote a positive rebirth.

Our Philosophy

We believe in ideas, but more importantly: we believe in the people that create them, love them, and fight for them. Our job is to actively believe in people; help them find their voice; and provide them with the support structure they need in order to make the impact they seek to create.

Core Values

Creativity
To us, Creativity means challenging/redefining our current systems in a positive and impact-bearing manner. Using limitless imagination, innovation, and intellect to approach old problems with bold new solutions.

Community
Community is the critical ability to rely on one another, look to our neighbors for help and hope, and build upon each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Without community, democracy is lost; and democracy IS freedom.

Collaboration
Collaboration is, in many ways, a true combination of the two former values: Creativity and Community. It is the process of bringing together individuals and ideas; people and possibilities; bodies and bold initiatives. It is the leveraging of mass creation in order to further the American Dream, the promise of the possibility of prosperity and success.

Call to Action

It is imperative for all of us to take action! This is not a request; this is something you HAVE to do. It is our responsibility as citizens of this great nation to adhere to the principals of democracy; to expand upon the foundation of the past, and to discover the true meaning of the New Frontier.
